Making Sense of Social Media Project
Social Media Strategy Report
In this final project for this course, we were asked to pick one brand and research it and its social media in depth. I chose to do this project on an independent concert promoter in Connecticut, Manic Presents. In this project, the elements included were: a company overview and audit, social code elements, company goals and audiences, content creation, and a conclusion and recommendations. This project provided valuable insights into Manic Presents’ brand presence and social media strategy. Through extensive and thorough research and analysis, I developed a comprehensive understanding of each of these elements. The final recommendations aim to enhance their social media performance and overall brand impact, demonstrating my ability to create tailored marketing strategies for real-world applications.
Redtail LIVE
On Friday, November 8th, we had our big once-a-semester concert, Redtail LIVE, and had four of our amazing artists and bands from the university – Naru Bari, Katie Kelly, Simon and The Cinema, and Where’s The Caveman? – perform at Konover Great Room on campus. At this amazing event, I was responsible for shooting some promotional content videos and behind-the-scenes looks, recording content during the show for Redtail’s Instagram stories, as well as shooting film photos of tech rehearsal, sound check, and each performance during the show (pictures below), which was all incredibly fun and rewarding. Not to mention, our Instagram page has had over 86K views and more than 1.3K interactions from late October to early November. Additionally, we had over 100 students and non-students in attendance, as well as two tables of vendors selling some of their artwork and other unique merch. Being part of the Executive Board, we work long hours and days preparing and helping to put this, and all shows on. Together, we’ve brought live music back to campus, and it’s so amazing to see our efforts come to fruition.
I also got to assist our Vice President, Aiden Dultz with some content filming as well. He edited and compiled the footage into an incredible takeover and behind-the-scenes look at Redtail LIVE, featured on the University of Hartford’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The video ended up getting over 15K views, making it one of the most-watched posts on the University’s Instagram page.
